To ensure you feel comfortable prior to working with me, I recommend an introductory phone call or in-person meeting at a local coffee shop or similar location. During these meetings I typically like to ask about you and your partner as people, your emotions and experience surrounding birth + pregnancy, as well as why you are seeking a Doula, your expectations of your Doula, and any other information you would like to share to help me know you better. Feel free to ask me any questions during this meeting, I will answer them to the best of my ability then provide you with a clear understanding of what I can provide.

As your due date approaches, (after 36 weeks) I am one call away, ready for labor at all times. I typically meet parents for in-person labor support once they feel they have started active labor, however, if for any reason you would like comfort or reassurance before contractions become consistent or unavoidable, check in with me by telephone and I am happy to assist you! I encourage everyone to call their Doula at anytime for support and to stay in touch with their providers.
During labor I provide:
Comforting/Comfortable environment
Pressure to counteract pain, light massages
Heating/cooling packs
Music, oils, birthing balls, fans, combs/hair brushing etc.)
Position suggestions + physical aid
Relief for partner
Reassurance and education
Breathing/relaxation techniques.
Immediate postpartum support
I am available officially for in-person labor support up to 10-12 Hours, starting as I arrive, and after this amount of time a backup Doula will be available if I cannot continue.
-
Once you feel comfortable and ready for company after birth, we will have a postpartum visit where we process and discuss your birth along with the experience of being a new parent from your perspective. We will cover your current state of being, mental health, any struggles related to parenting or breast/chest/formula feeding if related, as well as just reviewing and reflecting on events which occurred during labor + birth. Any postpartum resources you may need at this time I will do my best to provide.
